The Indian Ocean is right there. If you follow southern latitude 21 eastwards from Vilankulos or Bazarutho you will land in the Atacama Desert in Northern Chile. On its way the ocean changes its name to the Pacific and the latitude has passed through The Great Sandy Desert and The Tanami Desert in the Northern Territory in Australia.
Mozambique is about the ocean, the sun, swimming, snorkelling, diving, canoeing, dhow sailing and anything else you can think of doing in, on, by, over and under water. The roads along the coast and inland are not so good and when there is heavy rain, which happens, they are not safe at all, not even for 4x4s. Flying is recommended. There are National Parks but these are not yet ready for international tourism.
The capital Maputo is nice and welcoming and could be well worth a stop. From there you can fly to fantastic beaches and beach lodges up north or to the south. Some of these lodges are small and exquisitely luxurious. On a beach lodge in Mozambique you will not feel crowded.
We do not have scheduled departures; all our holidays and tours are tailor-made and unique productions. Please send us an email if you want us to send you suggestions and price estimates. In the meantime have a look at the suggested programs for the various destinations.
